The Identity Video Project

Consider this an opportunity to introduce yourselves and your life with a video that you make, edit, and present to the rest of the class!

Our assignment for this week is for you to develop a video that tells the viewer who you are, who your family is, where you live, and what is happening in your life at the moment.

Feel free to be as creative as possible. Perhaps you want to focus on a tradition that is celebrated where you live. Give the particulars and express the flavor or also commonly called the spin of that tradition. Describe features your own community adds to that tradition as their own stamp of identity.

Anything and everything about yourself that you can talk about in a video is your starting point! Include some of the scenery from your town or village or neighborhood in your video and you can talk over it, or make like a walking vlog!

Pay special attention to the quality of your video (is it too light? too dark?), the fluency, tone, and smooth presentation (often called the coherence factors) that you will use to create interest in your video in whomever watches it.

As an example, you may choose to make a video about traditional events and activities in your hometown, or village, or neighborhood.

I look forward to viewing your efforts! We will use this same activity, The Identity Video Project, for this week, February 15.
